Local & reliable

A local crew that treats your lawn like our own

In an industry where “ghosting” is common, we pride ourselves on showing up. We work from downtown Birmingham, we know Bermuda from Zoysia and red clay from river bottom, and we communicate clearly – before, during and after every job.

  • We show up – on the day we promised
  • We speak “lawn” – every grass gets its own cut
  • No drama – fair quotes and no long-term contracts

What your lawn needs this month

Warm-season lawns in central Alabama follow the same rhythm every year. Tap a month to see what your yard needs – and what we take care of.

Dormant and quiet

Your lawn

Warm-season grass is dormant. Keep leaves and fallen limbs off so the turf can breathe, and stay off frosty grass.

Grass growth: dormant

What we do

Final leaf cleanups, brush clearing and cutting back overgrowth while the trees are bare.

Services this month

Plan and prune

Your lawn

Still dormant. Late February is the time to cut back ornamental grasses and liriope before new growth starts.

Grass growth: dormant

What we do

Brush and vine clearing, hard cut-backs of overgrown shrubs, winter bed cleanup.

Services this month

Wake-up call

Your lawn

Lawns start to green up late in the month. Clear winter debris so sunlight reaches the soil; a first low cut on Bermuda and Zoysia after the last hard freeze.

Grass growth: slow

What we do

Spring cleanups, bed weeding and edging, fresh pine straw or mulch.

Services this month

Mowing season starts

Your lawn

Green-up is in full swing. Start regular mowing every 7–14 days. Fescue is at its best – keep it at 3 to 4 inches.

Grass growth: steady

What we do

Weekly and bi-weekly mowing begins, azaleas trimmed right after they bloom, mulch refreshes.

Services this month

Fast growth

Your lawn

Heat arrives and Bermuda and Zoysia take off. Mow weekly and never remove more than a third of the blade at once.

Grass growth: peak

What we do

Weekly mowing, edging and trimming; boxwoods and hollies shaped; bed weeding.

Services this month

Peak season

Your lawn

Peak growth. Keep blades sharp, mow when the grass is dry and leave short clippings to feed the lawn. Water deeply, not daily.

Grass growth: peak

What we do

Weekly mowing and bed weeding every few weeks as summer weeds appear.

Services this month

Beat the heat

Your lawn

Heat and humidity stress lawns. Never scalp – raise the cut a little in dry spells and watch for brown patch after storms.

Grass growth: peak

What we do

Weekly mowing on a fixed day, storm debris cleanup.

Services this month

Hold the line

Your lawn

Still peak growth. Consistent weekly cuts keep weeds out; shaded lawns may need a higher cut.

What we do

Weekly mowing, late-summer shrub trimming, bed weeding.

Services this month

Late summer

Your lawn

Growth begins to slow late in the month. Keep mowing weekly until the nights cool down.

Services this month

Slowing down

Your lawn

Growth slows – switch to every other week. Raise the height a little on the last cuts so the grass goes dormant with more leaf.

Grass growth: slow

What we do

Bi-weekly mowing, first fall cleanups, pine straw for winter.

Services this month

Leaf season

Your lawn

The first frost turns warm-season lawns tan. A thick layer of leaves now can smother the turf.

Grass growth: dormant

Services this month

The last leaves

Your lawn

Very good landscaping company. The owner gave us an estimate which he honored at the end. They graded our yard, installed 30 pallets of sod and lots plants. Our yard looks amazing. Thank u

Questions

Lawn care questions, answered

How much does lawn mowing cost in Birmingham?

It depends on the size of your lawn, slopes, obstacles and how often we mow. Most city lots have a set price per visit. Tell us your address in the quote builder and we will send you an exact price within 24 hours – free and with no obligation.

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

No. We work on a simple service agreement and you can cancel any time. We believe the quality of our work is the only contract we need.

How often should my lawn be mowed?

Weekly from late April through September for Bermuda and Zoysia, which grow fast in the Alabama heat. Every other week works for centipede, shady lawns and the slower weeks of spring and fall.

Which areas do you serve?

Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Helena and Bessemer. If your town is nearby but not on the list, just ask.

Do I need to be home when you come?

No. Just leave the gate unlocked and pets inside on your service day. We close and latch the gate behind us.

What happens when it rains?

Mowing wet red clay leaves ruts, so we move your visit to the next dry day – usually the day after – and let you know by text.
